EORI - obtain an identification number for the import and export of goods
If your company will be importing goods from or exporting to countries outside the European Union (EU), it will need an EORI number. The EORI number is an identifier that functions exclusively for customs purposes relating to the fulfilment of customs obligations for the import and export of goods from and to third (non-EU) countries. The number is assigned by the Economic Operators Registration and Identification system, is valid throughout the EU and is used as a common reference number when dealing with the customs authorities in any Member State.
If you would like to find out more about EORI, then go to the Tax Portal (the page will open in a new browser window).
If you want to obtain an EORI number for a company, check if the company is registered on the PUESC. To do this, use the company search engine, which is described in the service Check if the company is registered.
How to obtain EORI number?
- If your company is not registered on PUESC - use service Register company data on PUESC.
- If your company is already registered on PUESC - use service Change your company details on the PUESC portal.
Note! In Poland EORI number can be obtained only by:
- domestic company or
- a foreign company from a third country, i.e. a company from outside the EU, if this number has not been assigned to it so far in one of the EU countries.
Foreign company:
- from an EU country that has an EORI number or
- from a non-EU country which has an EORI number assigned in one of the EU countries,
uses on the PUESC the EORI number assigned in one of the EU countries. Such a company should be registered on the PUESC, indicating this number in the application.
The EORI number will not be assigned on the PUESC to the EU company. In this case, obtain it in the country of establishment of the company.
